Frequently Asked Questions - Vinyl Wrap Protection for Your Rig
A typical vinyl wrap for a vehicle will last 3 years based on normal conditions.
With the obvious goal of providing some protection for your rig while offroading, the vinyl will get the usual scratches and nicks the same as your paint would. IThe less damage overall to the vinyl will also make it last.
Even with the scratches and other damage that may be caused, as long as the vinyl has not been scratched or torn through to the paint then it should continue to protect your rig.
If a particular panel gets more abuse than others, it is possible to just replace the one panel and head back off to the trails and scratch that one up too :-)

It is also good to know that there are certain limitations in installation liability based on the current condition of the vehicle.

The short answer is YES... And likely doable...
Many key factors must be considered, about the expectations for applying vinyl wrap to vehicles that are not in a newer, factory original paint that has a BRAND NEW INTEGRITY condition.
We will of course review any and all concerns as best we can, so that you can make an educated decision and define the expectations and what the overall life span and reliability of such a wrap job.
There will be many factors in guessing how long a wrap will last.
Vinyl needs a flat, non porous material to adhere to properly. Of course new, shiny paint is of course easy to predict.
Such things to consider are:
- If there is already paint chipping, flaking or lifting.
- If there is any exposed body work, primer, rust or any other non-flat shiny surfaces.
- If there are sharp, or jagged edges, blemishes, dents or other body damage or defects.
These will all need to be looked at in determining the value and or expectations of the overall vinyl wrap finished quality or longevity of the install.
We generally will use Avery for most Installs.

We can help to replace it (with a cost of course). And or offer some advise on how to deal with it depending on how bad the vinyl is.
** Because of our production process, it should be fairly easy to remove and reinstall. The cost would vary depending on size of the panel and prep wor etc. that is nneded.
The process for installation, makes it fairly easy to remove. We do however recommend a professional or semi professional to remove.
There are many tips and tricks to avoid accidental paint removal or extra flaking -depending on the state of the paint before the install of course.
We will highlight these types of concerns or mentionable details for you in a pre-assesment document that you can provide you with.
We will do the best we can to either match the exact vinyl stock number, or the closest one.
For most standard colors, it may be possible to choose another vinyl manufacturer. Some colors such as black, white, grey and so on can be similar or very close.
It would be up to you to determine if that solution would work.
Depending on how long the original installed wrap has been on for, there may be some obvious difference considering that there is a new panel without and environmental exposure and of course, general trail wear and tear.
Over time and washing, there should be a balancing of the vinyl, but the time difference will always be a factor from the new VS old. If you go bush-wacking enough times, it will all blend eventually :-)
